In February, Northstowe Town Council launched a survey to gather input from residents, to understand what they would like to see in a market and to capture ideas how it should operate.

An amazing total of 555 replies were received (to put this in some context: that is roughly one in every two Northstowe households, or one for every three resident adults who have filled this in!).  Thank you to all of you who have gave their views!

What's next?

The Town Council is working hard, through its Market Development Working Group, to bring a market to Northstowe as soon as possible. The aim is to run a pilot market for 6 months initially, starting if all goes well by the end of 2022.

The Council is developing an operational management plan for the market, basing this on the outcomes from the survey results, and is in the process of seeking permissions from the relevant authorities, is reaching out to possible traders, and is considering options how best to staff the management of the market.
