Unity Centre Supervisor Vacancy

Northstowe Town Council is going to be operating the Unity Centre, a welcoming hub at the heart of our community. The centre provides a wide range of activities for residents of all ages, including toddler and youth groups, social clubs, community events, and a friendly café space. The team is committed to fostering an inclusive, vibrant environment where everyone feels at home.
 
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Centre Supervisor (reporting to the Assets and Estates Manager) to join our dedicated team and help keep our busy centre running smoothly. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, taking pride in their work, and making a real difference in their local area.

We are seeking a dynamic and community-focused Centre Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our thriving community hub. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the centre’s future, drive engagement, and contribute to the deliver high-quality services that make a real difference locally.

 

For the right individual, Northstowe Town Council can offer:

· A salary in the range of NJC scale of SCP 27 (£37,035) to SCP 30 (£41,489).

· 6% Employer Matched Pension Scheme.

· 37 hour working week.

· 25 days holiday (pro-rata for part time staff).

We are looking for a friendly, proactive and community-minded Centre Assistant to help ensure our community centre remains safe, welcoming and well-organised for all users. Working as part of the wider Northstowe Town Council team, you will support day-to-day operations, room setups, customer service, basic administration and community activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and contributing to a positive community environment.

 

For the right individual, Northstowe Town Council can offer:

· A salary in the range of NJC scale of SCP 6 (£13.47 per hour) to SCP 9 (£14.13 per hour).

· 6% Employer Matched Pension Scheme.

· 20 hour working week.

We are seeking a reliable, practical and community-minded Caretaker to support the smooth day-to-day running of our busy community centre. This role is essential in ensuring that the building remains clean, safe, secure and welcoming for all users. You will play a key part in preparing rooms for activities, supporting hirers, maintaining the premises, and being a positive representative of the centre within the local community.

 

For the right individual, Northstowe Town Council can offer:

· A salary in the range of NJC scale of SCP 2 (£12.65 per hour) to SCP 5 (£13.26 per hour).

· 6% Employer Matched Pension Scheme.

· 14 hour working week.

· 25 days holiday (pro-rata for part time staff).

· Training in the role.
