Bin Collections This week

Published: 14 December 2022

Please note the following update, received yesterday from the Greater Cambridge Shared waste - possible delays to bin collections this week:

If your bin has not been emptied, the crew will not be able to return this week as the forecast suggests that the compacted snow and ice will not thaw by the weekend.

Our bin collection crew have been out emptying bins as usual today but as a result of the snow and ice, some of the streets were too dangerous for our trucks to drive down. If all the bins on your street have not been emptied, we will not be able to return this week.

If this is the case for you, please bring your bin/s back in and put it/them out again on your next collection date. We will then do our very best to remove additional waste left alongside wheelie bins when we come back for your next scheduled collection and only for these affected households. For blue bins, this means one transparent clear sack of recycling plus one bundle of cardboard. Put any glass inside the blue bin and bundles of cardboard must be of a size which will fit inside an empty bin with the lid closed. For black bin waste, this will be up to two black bin bags for those households that need it. We are not able to collect additional green bin waste that is not in an authorised additional green bin.

Our crews are working hard to try and empty as many bins as possible, and we apologise for any inconvenience. The freezing weather conditions are making their jobs especially hard at the moment.

If you believe your bin has been missed, and others on your street were emptied, please report this in the usual way by visiting |
