Greater Cambridge Local Plan: different options to feed into this

Published: 16 November 2021

Don’t forget to comment on the first proposals for the Greater Cambridge Local Planconsultation still runs until 13 December.

The First Proposals set out where new homes, green spaces, business space and other facilities could be located across the area, as well as policies about climate change, biodiversity and much more. The new plan will shape what is built, where and how, across Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire over the next 20 years.

Although there are no specific in-person sessions on Northstowe as part of the current First Proposals consultation, South Cambridgeshire District Council is nevertheless running a series of events online that Northstowe residents would be welcome to attend. This page provides a list of events held (as also advertised in this previous news item).

You can also use this page to access a wide range of materials about the Local Plans. Besides the First Proposals document itself there are a number of topic papers and detailed evidence studies, digital maps and details of the various options for commenting on the proposals.

You can also follow and promote our social media content. The bottom of the South Cambridgeshire District Council website homepage provides further information with links to the Council’s Facebook page and Twitter account.

South Cambridge District Council would really like to hear from Northstowe residents. All of the events, both in person and online, are open to Northstowe residents. They can come and speak to someone from the planning policy team at one of our in person events or listen in and ask some questions at one of our online zoom events. You can also comment online by using our quick questionnaire or provide more detailed comments on individual policies or site proposals through our digital plan web pages that have been highlighted above.
